Quick, Cheap, Blackpowder Cleanup!
Marshall Stanton on 2001-01-28

When you are out in the field and have just fired your blackpowder gun, your concern is to get the gun clean. Often times that hot sudsy water treatment is out of the question for some time, especially in hunting situations.

Good, old fashioned Windex is the blackpowder enthusiast's friend! It will positively clean up your blackpowder fouling and residue with a minimum of effort. As a plus, it comes in those convenient pump-spray bottles, so you can clean even the hard to reach spots on your cap and ball revolver or the lock mechanism on your long gun with no more than a pump or two on the bottle! The ammonia and other cleaning agents in the window cleaner do a first class job cleaning up blackpowder fouling.
