Here's a tip I find useful. On my hunting rifles I pull the recoil pad off and drill a hole about a half to three quarters of an inch wide by about 4 or 5 inches deep. I use this space to put survival things in: fire starting stuff, fishing line and hooks, ect.. It's nice to know it's there. I also carry a sebertech tool to get the pad off if I need it.
