Virtually every Ruger single action revolver owner recognizes the need for improved trigger pull. Although complete action jobs are the optimal solution, they are both time consuming and expensive. The good spring packs available do wonders for taming the heavy hammer pull and trigger pull. The fix listed below is no substitute, but it surely does tame that heavy trigger pull in a hurry! It won't cure the typical creep in a stock Ruger single action trigger, but it will lighten the pull!Simply remove the grips from the revolver, and unhook ONE SIDE of the trigger return spring. (See Photo for illustration) The trigger return spring is hooked on both sides of the grip frame over a pin with detents in it. Unhooking ONE SIDE will almost cut the trigger pull in half. Not a bad improvement for three minutes time invested!
Give it a try! You will see an immediate improvement in the trigger. If you don't like the feel, simply hook the spring back over the pin on the one side.
