When selecting surveyor's flagging tape to mark trails and landmarks, keep in mind the colors of the surroundings where you will be hunting. If hunting where there is any deciduous foliage, be aware that in the fall reds, pinks, yellows, and oranges are abundant natural colors. Flagging tape in those colors frequently blend right into the surroundings of fall leaves! The very best color in the woods is safety blue. It is one of the few colors not occurring naturally, and stands out in all conditions. Whether you are hunting the hardwood forests of the Eastern states or the coniferous forests of the West, safety blue flagging tape is hard to miss.
