Ever noticed when hunting season comes around that your back is sore the first day of serious hunting? Most of us strap on a handgun, a belt knife and perhaps a cartridge slide on our belt, which is holding up our rather heavy and bulky cold weather hunting pants that have pockets stuffed with extra gear. In order to make sure all that gear stays put, we cinch up our belts. Instant sore back after a long day afield! Try using a pair of old fashioned heavy duty suspenders on your hunting pants. Yep, they may look funky, and I haven't seen any designer hunting colors lately, but they do work! Your suspenders help support that extra weight and distribute it to your shoulders. Then instead of cinching the belt up to hold everything together and keep it up, the belt only serves as a hanging appliance for your hunting gear. Your pants and belt are supported by the suspenders and your back won't be strained by a belt that is too tight. You'll find that your next hunting trip will be much more comfortable!
