If you've ever traveled by air as a group - either going hunting, to the SHOT show, or some other setting where multiple people are traveling together - try this trick for claiming your baggage. It will help you spot the luggage belonging to your party quickly, even if you aren't familiar with their bags.Simply have your entire party tie two foot pieces of colored surveyors flagging tape to the handles on their luggage or totes. It is cheap, very visible, easily removed when finished, but durable enough to withstand prolonged airline abuse without coming off. Use one color of flagging tape for every piece of luggage of every member of your party. Then, when claiming baggage, anyone in the group can spot and pull any piece of luggage that belongs to your party. It is surprising how efficiently and quickly you can clear even large groups from the baggage claim area using this technique.
This also makes your baggage stand out like a sore thumb in the event someone else has either mistakenly or intentionally taken your bag.
